London Cancer Clinic - Modulated fire rated ductwork installation
BW11 was used by Shepherd Engineering Services for the fire duct, for a modulated installation at London Cancer Clinic, the new £35.2m centre located in the heart of Harley Street. Once completed, the new clinic will be one of the most advanced cancer research and treatment facilities in Europe.
Space is at a premium in London and the storage of materials on site presented its own set of problems. One of the ways in which BW11 was used to combat this issue was it ability to be implement into modulation techniques, dividing complex elements into manageable modules, greatly improving costs and safety on site.
Fire Protection's Flamebar BW11 fire rated ductwork and general way of working is well-suited to this type of installation. Engineers at its factory in Harlow are able to call upon the years of experience and calculate the support system required to cope with transportation plus the reduced strength of steel in a fire installation and therefore given a system that will work correctly when called upon in a fire situation.
