Affiliations, accreditations and certifications

Fire Protection understands the importance of independent certification to reassure our customers that the level of service we provide is verified by recognised industry bodies. To this end, we were the first company to achieve third-party accreditation for all the ductwork systems and services that we supply.

Fire Protection is associated with the following organisations. Click on the links below for information about the individual bodies.

Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA)

Being members of RoSPA demonstrates Fire Protection's commitment to safety, gives us access to advice on Occupational Health and Safety and training. We have achieved the RoSPA President's Award in 2019.

The Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Certification Service

Fire Protection provides of an independently certified CPD on passive fire protection, relating to fire resisting ductwork. We deliver regular, free seminars, aimed at expanding the understanding of the need for, and methodologies behind, fire protection in the construction industry. Our CPD's contribute to the continuing personal and professional development of all individuals who attend.


Fire Protection Ltd is certified to the Occupational Health & Safety Management System ISO 45001 2008 certified independently by ACM-CCAS Ltd. It provides a framework to increase safety, reduce workplace risks and enhance health and wellbeing at work enabling Fire Protection Ltd to improve its Occupational Health & Safety performance.

Fire Protection Ltd is certified to the Environmental Management System ISO 14001:2015 and is the international standard that specifies requirements for an effective environmental management system certified independently by ACM-CCAS Ltd. It provides a framework to manage environmental aspects, fulfil compliance obligations and address environmental risks and opportunities.

Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP)

ASFP is the leading UK and European Trade Association relating to passive fire protection promoting continuous improvement in all aspects of the fire protection industry.

The ASFP produces the Blue Book, An Industry Guide to Design & Installation Fire Resistant Ductwork. Fire Protection's Flamebar BW11 system is included within this publication.

Building Engineering Services Association

We are a member of the Building Engineering Services Association, which represents the interests of firms active in the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration products and equipment. The Building & Engineering Serices Association is a valuable provider of training courses.

Membership is dependenton satisfactory assessment of standards, carried out on its behalf, at three-year intervals, by BM TRADA.

Build UK

Build UK is the leading representative organisation for the UK construction industry, bringing together Clients, Main Contractors, Trade Associations representing over 11,500 Specialist Contractors and other organisations committed to industry collaboration.

Build UK focuses on three key industry priorities that can deliver change and enable the construction supply chain to improve the efficiency and delivery of construction projects for the benefit of the UK economy, these are:

The Contractors Health and Safety (CHAS)

Fire Protection Ltd is accredited to the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS). CHAS is established as the market leader for health and safety pre-qualification in the UK. The scheme fully reflects the stage one requirements of assessing competence under CDM 2007. Copyright 2003.

Fire Accreditation Scheme (FIRAS)

A passive fire system is only as good as its installation. FIRAS carries out quarterly site inspections to confirm that Fire Protection's installations meet the required standards. Our installers are individually assessed by FIRAS, confirmation of which can be obtained from the FIRAS web site.

Fleet Operators Recognition Scheme (FORS)

The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is an accreditation scheme that aims to improve fleet activity in London and throughout the UK and beyond. We sent our drivers on a Safer Urban Driving course and developed a Transport Policy and Procedures as part of our Management System. In 2014 we were awarded the Silver award which we successfully retained in March 2020.

Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB)

Part of BRE Global

Our Quality Management System is certified to ISO 9001:2015, certificate No. 277, issued by the LPCB, for the Manufacture and installation of fire resistant ductwork systems and penetration seals.

Fire Protection Ltd has product conformity certification for Flamebar BW11 to BS476: Part 24: 1987, certificate No. 277a.

Cyber Essentials Certification

Cyber Essentials is a UK government scheme supported by the NCSC (National Cyber Security Centre) to help protect organisations against cyber attacks.
